This indenture made and entered into this sixth day of January One thousand Eight hundred and Sixty Eight. Joseph B. Prewit and his wife Manerva Prewit of the first part and William Presley of the second Part all of Blount County in the State of Alabama - Witnesseth that the Parties of the first part for and in Consideration of the sum of Five hundred and seventy five Dollars to them in hand Paid by the Parties of the Second Part before the delivery of this indenture hath bargained sold and conveyed and doth by these Presents Bargain sell and Convey to the said Parties of the Second Part his heirs and assigns forever the following described tract and parcel of Land to wit:
The S 1/2 of the SE 1/4 of Section 9. and the N 1/2 of the NE
1/4 of Section No. 16, all of township 11 of Range 3 West in the district of
Land Subject to Entry at Huntsville Alabama Containing One hundred & Sixty
acres more or less Together with the appurtenances appurtaining thereto
Belonging and all the Estate Title and Claim of the Party of the first part doth
Covenant and agree with the Parties of the Second Part that at the time of the
delivery here-of The said Party of the first part is the Lawful owner of the
Premises above granted and that they will warrant and defend the right and title
against all claims whatsoever of Persons not a Party to this Conveyance.
In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and sealed with our seals on
this 6th day of January AD 1868.
