Know
all men by these presents, that I Enoch
B. PRESSLEY Executor, of the Estates of Sarah WISE deceased, in the State
aforesaid in consideration of the sum of One Thousand and five Dollars to me
paid by Jarrett WISE, of the District
of Edgefield in the State aforesaid have granted, bargained, sold, and
released, and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, and release unto the
said Jarrett WISE, all that tract or parcel of Land lying in the District of
Edgefield on the road leading from Columbia to Augusta known as the old
wells, bounded on the North by Lands of
Winifrey WHITLOCK, on the East by lands of John DUNKLEY, on the South by Lands of Morris JOHNSON, and
on the West by the said Jarrett WISE, which said Tract of Land I grant,
bargain, sell & release unto the said Jarrett WISE, as Executor of the said
Sarah WISE, agreeable to the power in me vested by her last Will and Testament
dated the Seventh day of November 1837:
Together with all and singular the rights, members, hereditaments and
appurtenances, to the said premises belonging, or in anywise incident or
appertaining. To have and to hold, all
and singular the premises before mentioned unto the said Jarrett WISE, his
heirs and assigns forever. And I do
hereby bind myself, my heirs, Executors and Administrators, to warrant and
forever defend, all and singular the said premises, unto the said Jarrett WISE,
his heirs and assigns, against myself, and my heirs, and every other person
whatsoever, lawfully claiming, or to claim, the same or any part thereof. Witness my Hand and Seal, this the Seventh
day of May, in the year of Our Lord One Thousand, Eight Hundred and Thirty
Eight, and in the Sixty Second year of the Independence of the United States of
America.
