DEED OF CONVEYANCE

The State of South Carolina, Edgefield County

 

 

Know all men by these Presents that I John PURSLEY living in Edgefield District in the state aforesaid, planter in Consideration of the sum of One Hundred and Forty Dollars to use by Charles Dougherty unto me of Edgefield District in the state aforesaid have Granted Bargained Sold and released and by these presents do Grant Bargain Sell and release unto the Charles Dougherty his heirs Exetors and Administrators All that plantation or parsil of Land containing fifty four acres situated lieing and being in Edgefield District on Horns Creek on the Watters of Savanah River oreginely Granted to Benjamin Adams Bounded by Lands of the said Dougherty and Robert Glover Land and hath such shape form marks Buttings and Bundings as appears by the orregenal Plat.  Together with all and Singular the Rights Members Heredements and Appertance unto the said Premises belonging or in any wise incident or appearing To have and to hold and singular the Premises before mention unto the said Charles Dougherty his Eiers and Assigns forever and I do hereby bind myself my Eirs Exetors and Administrators to Warrant and forever Defend all and Singular the premises unto the Dougherty his Eirs and assigns against myself and my Eirs and against all and every other Person or Persons Whomsoever Lawfully Claiming or to claim the or part thereof - Witness my hand and Seal this Fifteenth Day of Oct. in the year of Lord 1807 and in the thirty Second year of the Independence of the United States of America.

Memarandom that on the Fifteenth day of October in the year of our Lord One Thousand  Eight hundred & Seven personally appeared before me Eliezabeth MARSH and made oath that she saw John PURSLEY Acknowledge and Delever the within deed for the uses and purpose within mentined and that she with Jane MARSH in the presence of each other witness the due Execution thereof.                   Elisabeth MARSH

District aforesaid do hereby certify unto all Whom it may concern that Salley PURSELEY  the Wife of the within named John PURSELEY Did this day appear before me and upon being Privately and Seperately Examined by me did declare that she does freely Voluntarily and without any Compulsion dred or fear of any person or persons Whomsoever Renounce release and forever relinquish unto the within named Charles Dougherty his Heirs and Assigns all her Interest and Estate and also all her Right and Claim of Dower of in or to all and Singular the premises within mentioned and released
