For and in consideration of seventy-five dollars ($75) cash to me in hand paid,
I Allen DeBerry have this day bargained and sold and do by these presents
transfer and convey unto President Presley the following described tract or
parcel of land lying and being in the 7th Civil District Madison
County Tennessee and bounded as follows, to wit. Beginning at a Stake, hickory
pointer 4 poles south of Jno. A. Green’s Northeast corner, runs thence east 62
poles 12 links to a stake persimmon pointer, thence north 26 poles to a stake
thence West (13) thirteen poles to a stake and two Black Oak pointers on said
Presley’s line, thence South (22) twenty poles to a stake, thence west with
said Presley’s line 49 poles and 12 links to Jno. Al Greer said northeast
corner, thence south 4 poles to the beginning, containing 3 acres and 55 poles,
more or less. To have and to hold the same unto the said President Presley his
heirs and assigns forever together with all the appurtenances, title and
interest (???) to belonging. And I the said Allen DeBerry do hereby covenant
and bind himself, his heirs and representatives to forever warrant and defend
the title to said parcel of ground against the lawful claims of all persons
whosoever and that I am lawfully seized of said tract of land and bargained
premises and have a good right to sell and convey it, and that the same is
unencumbered.
