MECKLENBURG COUNTY

16 OCTOBER 1783

 

BETWEEN THOMAS PRESLY  AND WILLIAM RODGERS

 

This indenture made this 16th of October 1783 Between Thomas Presly of the State of North Carolina and County of Anson of the one part and William Rodgers of the County of Mecklenburg and State of North Carolina of the other part.

 

Witnesseth that the Sd. Thomas Presly for and in consideration of the sum of 100 - hundred pounds lawfull money of the State afforesd to him in hand paid by the Sd. Wm. Rodgers before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt thereof the Sd. Thomas Presly doth hereby acknowledge he hath given granted bargained and sold and made over unto the Sd. Wm. Rodgers his heirs, Exes, Admstrs  or assigns one certain tract or parcel of Land containing 200 Acres of land situate lying and being in the County of Mecklenburg and State of North Carolina on the waters of the No. fork of the Waxhaw Creek including the Sd. Thomas Presleys improvements beginning at a small B.O. John Davises corner and runs with his line So. 75tt 100 poles to a B.O. Davises other corner thence So. 15tt 120 poles to a B.O. on Beards line thence with his line No. 85 tt 160 poles to a B.T. thence No. 25 tt 240 poles to a B.O. thence to the beginning to have and to hold the aforesd. 200 acres of Land all and singular the rights and benefits privileges and appurtenances to the same belonging to the Sd. Wm. Rodgers  his heirs and assigns forever and the Sd. Thomas Presly doth by these presents warrant and will Defend forever just right and title of him the Sd. Thomas Pressly his heirs- in the Sd. Granted bargained premises to the Sd. Wm. Rodgers his heirs and assigns forever and from all manner of incumbrances whatsoever

 

In Witness whereof the Sd. Thomas Presly hath hereunto affixed his hand and seal the day and year above written
