WILLIAM MCORKLE AND ESTER, HIS WIFE
AND
THOMAS PRESSLEY

 

This Indenture made the fourth day of June in the Year of our Lord one thousand Seven Hundred and seventy and Between William MCorkle and Ester his wife of Mecklenburg County and Province of North Carolina of the One parte and Thomas Pressley of the County and Province aforesaid of the Other parte


Wittnesseth that the said William MCorkle and Ester his wife for and in Consideration of the sum of Twenty Pounds Currante Money of Province aforesd To him in hand paid by the said Thos Pressley the Receipt whereof the said William MCorkle doth hereby acknowledge and himself Fully satisfied Contented and paid and for other Good Causes and Considerations him Thereunto Moving him the said William MCorkle hath Granted Bargain’d Sold Alleined Enfecosed Released and Confirmed and by these presents doth Grant Bargain sell alein Enfecos release & Confirm Unto the sd. Thos. Presssley a Tract of Land Containing Two Hundred acres Lying and being in the County of Meclenburg and Province of North Carolina on the Waters of the North fork of the Waxhaw Creek Including Humphrey Yarboroughs Improvement Begining at a small B.O. John Davis’s Corner & Runns with his line S 45 W 100 po: to a B.O. Davison other Corner.  Thence S 15 E 120. po: to a B.O. on beards Line thence with his line N35 E 60 poles to a B.Jack Thence N25 E220 po to a B. O. thence to the Beg’ng

 

By Virtue of a pattent bearing date the 16 day of december 1769 – Together with all woods waters water Courses Profits Heriditaments & allso the reversion & Reversions Remainders & Remainders Rents & Services and also all the Estate Right Title Claim Interest ord’d of him the Said Will. MCorkle His heirs etc, in & to the Said Premises and to Evry parte thereof.  To have and to hold the said Mesuage or Tracte of Land with the appurt’s Is the only Proper Use & Behoof of him the Said Thos Pressly his heirs Ex’c Ad’m & assigns for Ever & that he the Said Will MCorkle is Siezed of a Good Sure absolute & Indefasible Estate of Inheritance in fee Simple and all and singular the Mesuage and Incomess above mentioned without any mennor Mortgage Limation of Use or Users or things to alter Charge or Charges or determine the Same and also that the said William MCorkle hath good Power and Lawfull authority in his Own Right to Grant Bargain Sell or Convey the Said Messuage or Tennement of Land or Premises above Men’d with all the appurtenances To the Said Thos Pressly his heirs etc: for Ever and also that the Said Thos Presly his heirs etc” Shall  and may from time to time & at all time Occupy Premises & Enjoy all and singular the premises above men’d: without the Least Trouble hindrance molestation Interruption or Deniall of him the said William MCorkle his heirs etc & of all & every other person or persons whatsoever Claiming or to Claim & Further that he the said William MCorkle his heirs etc shall & will at all times hereafter at the request & Cost of said Thos. Presley his heirs etc Procure to be made and Executed all and evry other Lawfull & Reasonable:  Grante acte or assurance Whatsoever for the More Perfect Granting of the Said Premisses Unto the Said Thos. Presley his heirs and assigns for Ever   The Quitrents Growing Due to his Majesty From the Said Thos  Presley his heirs etc: from the date of the Pattent according to the True Intent & meaning of these presents & for no other Interest or purpose Whatsoever in Wittnesseth Whereof

 

The Said Will’m MCorkle & Ester his wife have hereunto set their hands & affixed their Seals the day & year above written.
