This is the final resting place of James Alexander Pressly and his wife, Mary Carolyne Pearce.
James A. Pressly was born in Lavaca County, Texas, the son of John Thompson Pressly and Clarissa Arnold of the 96 District / Abbeville area of South Carolina.
Mary Carolyne Pearce was born in Lavaca County, Texas, the daughter of Joshua and Rebecca Igou Pearce. 
James A. Pressly and Mary C. Pearce Pressly raised five children in Sweet Home, Lavaca County, Texas.
They are the great-grandparents of Yvonne Pressly DiFrancesco.
 

 
 

Here lies buried John Thompson Pressly, father of James A. Pressly, born in South Carolina.  He was a dentist by profession and served in the Army of the Confederate States of America from 1862 to 1865. He was married to Clarissa Arnold in 1848 in South Carolina.  She was the daughter of Ira Arnold and Mary Saxon of Laurens County, South Carolina.  Dr. Thompson Pressly and Clarissa Arnold Pressly raised six children in South Carolina, moving to Lavaca County, Texas after the War Between the States.
