Walter Green Presley, known by his friends and family as "Dub", was born September 14, 1919 in Kemp, Kaufman County, Texas.  Dub is the son of William David Presley (1885-1966 TX)  and Little Bessie Henson (1897 - 1977 TX).  He is the grandson of Jacob Columbus Presley (1844-1927) and Sally O'Daniels (1854-1901).  Dub Presley married Mary Jane Wiley and raised two children, a son and a daughter.

This is a photo of Dub Presley taken in 1942 right before he made his fifth and final qualifying jump as a paratrooper in training..

Dub served the United States Army from February 1943 to September 22, 1945.  He enlisted in Texas and was inducted at Camp Wolters, Mineral Wells, Texas.  Dub parachuted into France on D-Day, 1945.  He earned three Bronze Stars for heroic achievement in action and was awarded three Purple Hearts during his tour of duty.
