Arthur M. PRESSLEY, 75, of the Fletcher community, died early this morning in a local hospital after a lingering illness.
Mr. Pressley was a native and lifelong resident of this county, son of the late Nicholas and Hattie YARBOROUGH PRESSLEY. He was a member of Calvary Episcopal Church and was a retired carpenter.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in Calvary Episcopal Church with the Rev. Mark Jenkins, rector, officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Churchyard with nephews serving as active pallbearers.
The body will be at Jackson Funeral Home until taken to the home of a brother M.T. PRESSLEY at Fletcher at 2 p.m. Sunday and will be taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service.
Surviving are one son, Arthur M. PRESSLEY, Jr. of Asheville; one daughter, Mrs. Sue SHIPMAN of Hendersonville; one brother, M.T. PRESSLEY of Fletcher; seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
