Dan Presley, 83, of Mount Pleasant, died Thursday, April 8, 1999, at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 11, at Bates-Cooper-Robison Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Larry Bilbo officiated. Interment was at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Mr. Presley was born May 23, 1915 in Titus County, the son of Newton and Minnie Lee (Sims) Presley. He attended Abilene Christian College and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Presley was a member of Southside Church of Christ and was a charter member of the Mount Pleasant Country Club. He was retired from the railroad as a chief yard clerk.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Gilpin Presley of Mount Pleasant; son and daughter-in-law Dan and Sharon Presley of Mount Pleasant; daughter and son-in-law Martha and Chris Breedlove of Nacogdoches; grandchildren Kelly Breedlove, Meagan Presley, Brett Presley, all of Mount Pleasant, and Kim Breedlove and Karen Raines, both of Rockwall; three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
