David O. Presley

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Dannel Funeral Chapel, Sherman, for David O. Presley, 78, retired Grayson farmer, who died at 11:35 a.m. Saturday in his home in Garland, after a long illness.

The Rev. Hubert Long of Gainesville, Baptist minister, conducted the services. Burial was in West Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jack Taylor, T. I. Taylor, Paul Brown, John Cummings, Olan Blankenship and Ernest Strawn.

Mr. Presley was born Oct. 20, 1881, in Rome, Ga., a son of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Presley. He came to Grayson County from Georgia as a child. For many years he farmed in the Dorchester area. In 1955, Mr. Presley moved to Denison and in 1959 he moved to Garland. His wife died in 1953.

His only survivors are a number of nieces and nephews.
