George W. Pressley, 64, of Fletcher, died Tuesday in a Henderson county hospital after a brief illness.
The funeral service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in Hooper's Creek Baptist church with the Rev. Claude Rice and the Rev. M.L. Kirstein officiating.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Nicky, Melton, John and Vernon Pressley and Charles Youngblood and Forest Souther. Nieces will serve as flower girls.
The body will be taken to the home of a brother, M.T. (Bill) Pressley at Fletcher, where it will remain until time for services.
Surviving are three sons, Carrol W. of Fairview, and Harold and Hilliard, both of Fletcher; one daughter, Mrs. Claude Freeman of Fort Mills, S.C.; three stepsons Tom Powers of Asheville, and Sgt. Charles Powers of Germany and Harry Powers of Texas; three step-daughters, Mrs. R.H. Jones of Canton, Mrs. G.E. Bryson of Asheville and Mrs. Bland Andrews, also of Asheville; three brothers, M.T., A.M. and E.J. Pressley, all of Fletcher, and seven grandchildren.
