The Rev. Isaac Hill Presley, 90 of 11 James Street, Greenville, SC husband of Edna McAbee Presley, died Wednesday, March 16, in Greenville.Born near Evergreen, he was a son of the late Daniel Terrell and George Ann Presley. A retired Pentecostal Holiness Minister, he had served as pastor, school principal and teacher at schools in Florida, Alabama, Georgia, South and North Carolina and Virginia. His last pastorate was in Evergreen. He was a member of Holmes Memorial Church.
He attended Holmes Theological Seminary, Furman University, the University of South Carolina, and received an A.B. degree from Asbury College at Wilmore, Kentucky. He did graduate work at east Carolina State, Florida State University and Union Theological Seminary at Richmond, Virginia.
He had conducted Evangelistic meetings in Canada, Washington, D.C. and across the deep South and established River Springs Camp Meeting near Evergreen. He had served on the Board of Education for Emmanuel College; had served as General Secretary of the church; Conference Secretary and Assistant Conference Superintendent; was Editor of the Adult Sunday School Quarterly and was a song writer and Editor of the first church songbook.
His first wife was the late Mary Willette Puckett Presley.
Also surviving are three sons, the Rev. Warren Jackson Presley of Miami, Fla., Dr. John Moody Presley of Johnson City, Tennessee and Charles Bristoe Presley of Anderson; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Friday at Holmes Memorial Church. Burial was in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Greenville, the Mackey Mortuary directing.
It was requested that any memorials be made to Holmes Memorial Church or School, 115 Briggs Avenue, Greenville, SC 29601
