ASHEVILLE - Hazel Garren Pressley, 87, of 285 Mills Gap Road, died Monday,
April 1, 2002, at a local hospital.
A native of Henderson County, she was a daughter of the late R. Ledford and Viola Garren. She was an employee of C.T.S. for 32 years and the widow of George Franklin Pressley, who died in 1952.
Surviving are two sons, J.L. Pressley and his wife, Cathy, of Arden and
Bruce Pressley and his wife, Linda, of Asheville; brother, Arnold Garren and
his wife, Ruth, of Hendersonville; sister, Ottie Murray of Beaver Creek,
Ohio; and four grandchildren, Kristin, Angela, J.R., and David Pressley and
his wife, Amber.
The funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hooper's Creek Baptist Church, of which she was a member, with the Rev. Lawrence Rhodes officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Episcopal Churchyard in Fletcher. The family will receive friends one hour before the services Wednesday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hooper's Creek Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1856, Fletcher, NC 28732 in memory of Hazel Pressley. Penland & Sons Funeral Home, Swannnaoa, is serving the family.
