Ruby Lee Pressley
Jervis, 90, of 204 Providence Road, died Tuesday, April 24, 2001, at her home.
A native of Haywood County, she lived most of her life in Buncombe County. She
was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and was a former Sunday school teacher at
Enka Baptist Church.
She was a
daughter of the late Charles and Estella Hall Pressley and the wife of the late
John E. Jervis who died in 1985. She was also preceded in death by her brothers,
Edward and Ray Pressley, and sisters, Laura Scott, Frankie Robinson and Mamie
Gaddis.
Surviving are her sons, Charles R. Jervis and Glenn M. Jervis, both of the home,
and William P. Jervis of Hull, Ga.; sister, Velma Ruff of Hazelwood; brother,
Vaughn Pressley of Fletcher; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Anders-Rice Funeral Home
chapel with the Rev. Jerry Young officiating. Burial will be in Green Hills
Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to
the services.
