Pvt. Wilmer H. Presley, 25, was instantly killed Friday, June 26, at 4 A.M. when hit by a train near Camp Polk, La., where he was stationed.

Born in Bibb County, Ala., the deceased had made his home at Sycamore for a number of years.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 29, at 2 P.M. at Sycamore, with the Rev. Charlie Ellison officiating, assisted by the Rev. L.W. Young. Interment was made at Hickman cemetery.

Surviving are his parents, Mr. And Mrs. Dave Presley of Sycamore, two sisters, Miss Lola Presley and Mrs. Odessa Wynn, Oldfield and two brothers, Luther of Fort Benning, Ga. and Pat Presley of Sycamore.
