This is a photograph of the family of Benjamin Beauregard Barrett and Emmaline Pressley. Benjamin B. Barrett was born about 1867 in South Carolina, and was the son of Benjamin Barrett and Martha Gibson of South Carolina. The elder Benjamin Barrett died young and his widow, Martha Gibson Barrett and her children are found on the 1880 Hall County, Georgia federal census records.
Emmaline Pressley was the daughter of Sanford Vandiver Presley and Arminta Baugh. Emmaline was born 9 August 1871 in Hall County, Georgia, the eldest of Sanford and Arminta Presley's eight children. Sanford Vandiver Presley was born about 1848 in Jackson County, Georgia and was the son of Harvey Sanford Presley, born 1830, Franklin County, Georgia, and Elizabeth Jane White, born 1830 in Hall County, Georgia.
Emmaline Pressley and Benjamin Beauregard Barrett were married 31 January 1892 in Hall County, Georgia. To their marriage were born 10 children. They were:
Thomas A. Barrett, Calhoun C. Barrett, Lonnie Barrett, Rachel D. Barrett, Mamie Barrett, Ella Barrett, Laura Barrett, Etta Barrett, Dora Barrett, and Renee Barrett.
Emmaline Pressley and Benjamin B. Barrett are buried together at Midway Baptist Church Cemetery in Abbeville County, South Carolina.
