James Franklin Pressley was the fifth child and second son of Richard S. and Philadelphia I. Pressley. He was born 20 November 1880 in Pickens County, SC. About 1905 he married Rosa J. Crittendon, born 18 August 1887, daughter of William and Cora Ginn Crittendon.
Jim and Rosa Pressley raised five children in
Elbert County, Georgia and Anderson County, South Carolina. Jim farmed and
worked in the local cotton mills. James F. Pressley, Sr. died 11 December 1954
and is buried at Old Silver Brook Cemetery in Anderson, South Carolina.
Rosa Crittendon Pressley died 11 April 1962 and she is buried with him.

James Franklin Pressley, Jr., born 25 June 1913, died 14 March 1973. Buried Old Silver Brook Cemetery, Anderson Co., SC.
William Richard Pressley, born 23 September 1923, died 9 December 1958. He is buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery near the Whitefield Community of Anderson County, SC.
Ralph Eugene Pressley, born 19 February 1926, died 8 December 1984. He is buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery near the Whitefield Community in Anderson Co., SC
